About Our Church
Our church is affiliated with the Foursquare Gospel Church Of Canada.
As a Foursquare Church we worship Jesus as the foundation of our whole lives.
There are four cornerstones, which support us, as we are built on that foundation.
There are four foundational truths, which are the Foursquare Gospel, are:
- Jesus is our Saviour
- Jesus is our Baptizer with the Holy Spirit
- Jesus is our Healer
- Jesus is our soon and Coming King
A verse that helps express the Spirit of our church is, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.”
( Hebrews 13:8)
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. The Bible teaches that man by nature is a sinner from birth, and is in a state of spiritual separation from God.In scripture, is one God,eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God’s Son Jesus Christ, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and died on a cross in payment for mans sins. He was raised from the dead on the third day, and is coming back again.
A Brief Church History
In September of 2007, we held our first official Sunday morning service.
We were blessed to able to use, free of charge, the basement of the Catholic Church manse.
Our first seven years in Gold River we were under the spiritual covering title of Northgate Foursquare Church in Courtenay with Pastor Scott Gaglardi as our Senior Pastor.
In the winter of 2008, we realized that we would need to move to a bigger building and as a church family we began to pray and seek out another place to meet. We finally had permission to start renovations on this building, in the Village Square Plaza.
Working on the renovations here,caused our church family to really come together!
We not only saw church growth but we began in grace and knowledge of Jesus together. We saw many salvations and baptisms in that time!! In June 2014, we became a chartered church with the Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada.We not only saw church growth but we began in grace and knowledge of Jesus together. Darla and I became senior Pastors and our church changed its name to Westgate Foursquare Gospel Church. We now operate as a fully self sufficient church, totally dependent on the grace and provision of Jesus Christ as Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. When I first Became a Christian, I would never have imagined what God would do. I knew that I wanted other men and women to know the salvation that I knew but I didn’t imagine this!
God had much bigger plans than I did!
Ephesians 3: 20 says – He…. is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine , according to His Power that is at work within us, to Him be the Glory ….forever and ever! Amen.
